TradeLabs Learn is built like a school, not a blog. Every lesson belongs to a track, every track is split into sections, and every lesson tells you what to read before it and what to read after it. You can read in any order you like, but if you follow the structure you will never hit a lesson that assumes knowledge you do not have yet.

## Areas, tracks and sections

The school is organised in three layers:

- **Areas** are the big subjects, such as Foundations, Technical Analysis, Risk and Psychology, Markets in Depth, Fundamentals and Macro, Quant and Technology, and The Industry. They appear as the group headings in the left menu.
- **Tracks** are courses inside an area, such as Orders and Execution or Candlesticks. Each track has an overview page that lists its lessons in reading order.
- **Sections** group related lessons inside a track. In the Orders and Execution track, for example, the Order Types section covers market, limit and stop orders before the Advanced Orders section covers brackets and OCO orders.

## Levels

Each lesson carries a level badge under its title:

| Level | What it means |
|---|---|
| Beginner | No prior knowledge needed beyond the lessons it lists first |
| Intermediate | Assumes you know the basics of markets, orders and charts |
| Advanced | Uses maths, statistics or professional market mechanics |

The levels are a guide, not a gate. If an intermediate lesson is exactly what you need today, read it and follow its "Read first" links when something is unclear.

## The parts of every lesson

Every lesson follows the same layout so you always know where to look:

1. **Read first.** Small links under the title point to the lessons this one builds on.
2. **The lesson.** Plain English explanation, worked examples with real numbers, diagrams where they help, and tables for quick comparison.
3. **Callouts.** Green tips, blue notes, amber warnings and worked examples are boxed so you can scan a lesson quickly.
4. **Frequently asked questions.** Short answers to the questions people most often search for on that topic.
5. **Sources.** Where a lesson states facts about rules, markets or history, it links to the regulator, exchange or original document.
6. **Next lesson and related lessons.** At the bottom, a card points to the next lesson in the track, followed by related lessons from other tracks.

The "On this page" list on the right of wide screens follows you as you scroll, so you can jump between sections of long lessons.

## Learning paths

If you would rather follow a route than browse, start with a learning path. Each path is an ordered list of lessons from several tracks:

- [Beginner Learning Path](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/beginner-learning-path/): from your first order to managing risk on real trades.
- [Crypto and Prediction Markets Learning Path](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/crypto-learning-path/): crypto markets, perpetual futures and Polymarket style prediction markets.
- [Options Learning Path](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/options-learning-path/): calls and puts through the Greeks, spreads and volatility.
- [Quant Trading Learning Path](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/quant-trading-learning-path/): probability, statistics, backtesting and building systematic strategies.

## How to study so it sticks

Reading about trading is not the same as being able to trade. A few habits make the lessons far more useful:

**Tip: Turn every lesson into an action**
After each lesson, do one small thing with it: place a paper trade using the order type you just learned, label the candles on a real chart, or calculate a position size by hand. Knowledge you use once is remembered; knowledge you only read fades within days.

- **Practise with simulated money first.** [Paper Trading](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/paper-trading/) lets you test ideas without risking anything.
- **Write it down.** Keep notes in your own words and start a [Trading Journal](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/start-here/trading-journal/) as soon as you place your first practice trade.
- **Go slowly through risk.** The lessons on [Position Sizing](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/risk/position-sizing/) and the [Risk/Reward Ratio](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/risk/risk-reward-ratio/) matter more to your long term results than any chart pattern.
- **Revisit.** Many lessons make more sense the second time, after you have traded a little.

## What this school is not

These lessons are general education. They do not know your finances or goals and they are not advice to buy or sell anything. Trading involves risk, and you can lose money. Read how lessons are written and checked on the [About page](https://learn.tradelabsai.com/about/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is TradeLabs Learn free?
